Whether you’re a new resident or have lived here all of your life, welcome to Valley Stream! It’s the largest village in Nassau County with some of the best elementary, middle, high and private schools (including a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School), but once you leave your home you’re bound to run into someone you know.
Elementary Aged Kids
If you’re a parent with a school-aged child, your possibilities are endless. In addition to joining a sports team, area recreation centers are at your disposal. Here, you can find anything from sports, swimming, gymnastics, and even programs for the little ones. There’s something for everyone!
So you have a teen who constantly complains that there’s nothing to do, huh? I happen to know that there IS plenty to do. Alot of kids hang out at Sip This, our local coffee shop; IHOP for some yummy hotcakes, or the movies. We have social programs for either boys, girls, or both. For a complete listing of teen “to do’s” visit the Teen page. There are even a few scholarship opportunities for your soon-to-be graduate.
As a newbie, I didn’t know that the Valley Stream area was pretty rich in the both the performing and fine arts. You can find anything for your creative kid.
Looking for a summer camp that doesn’t cost a bundle? Look no further. There are at least 15 summer camps for kids right here in Valley Stream. Camps range from full and half day to camps for tots to teens.
