Now that I’m cleared to drive, I feel like I have my life back. I had umbilical hernia surgery just over a week ago and am healing nicely. It’s hard for a mama like me who is always moving and shaking to sit still long enough to heal. But I did it. Somewhat. I still can’t life heavy objects and can’t do any crunches.
Let’s be real. I wasn’t doing those before the surgery!
But one exercise I started doing before my surgery was this 10 Minute Strapless Dress Arm Workout I heard about on another mom blog. I found it on YouTube where I was able to pull it up on my smart TV in my living room. Guys, it was super easy and effect. I’m not sculpted yet because I have more work to do, but I definitely felt the burn.
While I can’t life 20 lbs of anything now, I can definitely start with my 5 lb weights and my yoga mat. I think she uses 10 lbs weights but I’m not ready for that. I can also do a modified version of the exercise until I’m back up and running.
I’m trying to tighten my arm muscles because, well…arm flab caught up with me. I have to attend a gala in May where I have to wear a white gown. It’s also the weekend of my 15th wedding anniversary so I want to be extra sexy. The original mom blogger who wrote about it said she saw progress after about 4-6 weeks. I know I’m cutting it close but I’m committed to doing it daily at least until my event in May.
In addition, I also can’t wait until this weather becomes a little more stable. If we continue to have weather like we did earlier this week, I’ll take advantage of it and ride my bike through the park.
