If you know me, you know I love empowering tween/teen girls. My daughter recently became so excited about the 365 Days of Wonder book a girl scout friend bought her. I can’t tell you how it makes me feel knowing how she wakes up excited to read the day’s affirmation or quote. She even brings it to us to read aloud. This morning, she needed a little help in understanding what today’s message was allowing us to help her think it through.
The older my daughter gets, the more I realize that her friendships will at some point become more important than what we say. I mean, we’ve never been her age, right? However, I believe if we continue to keep the lines of communication open, let her know that she can come to us with anything, we may get through this tween/teen period in one piece.
One would hope, anyway.
As a long time creator of a teen girls empowerment program in my community, I was inspired me to create a list of empowerment books for girls. I like to read and listen to inspirational messages on the radio and on YouTube during those times when I need a little pick me up. If I could help encourage/empower a young lady through one of these books, I would be extremely happy knowing that I am continue to walk in my purpose.
I actually have three of these books listed and know or have met a few of the authors who are all local. Be sure to check out this list, share with your friends, and be sure to snag a few for the girls in your life for the holidays.
