I’ve been motivated to lose a few pounds and inches off of my waist, but to be honest I don’t like to exercise in the traditional sense. I’m not a runner because I have bad knees. I’ve never been diagnosed with anything, but when I know when my knee is about to give out. I’ve discovered 12 places to exercise in Valley Stream and there’s something for everyone.
I want to lift weights but hate the burn I feel in the first few days of lifting. You know how they say women forget the pain of childbirth? That may be true, but I can’t forget the burn and soreness of weightlifting and exercising.
Hubby and I just bought new bikes from a college classmate of his. They’re pretty cool and I really like riding mine. I’m trying to get into the habit of riding at least three times each week, but I’ve been face down in building an online business. The days zoom by before having to go pick up the kids and then the after school routine begins. Not to mention it’s nerve wrecking riding to the park not knowing whether or not a car is going to run a stop sign and run me over.
But I ride and I’ve recently begun taking an adult dancer/exercise class at Danse Xpression. It’s a step by step Afro Caribbean class that gets me sweating. As I speak, I’m trying to mute the voice in my head that’s trying to get me to skip. However, I must prevail.
