By now you may have seen all of the signage poppin’ up across the community announcing both the Valley Stream Community Fest as well as the Dreamland Amusement Carnival hosted by the VS Fire Department (click for coupons). If not, just take a quick drive to the pool parking lot and Rockaway Avenue. Both areas will soon be transformed into a fun time for families young and old.
I think fall and winter (minus the snow) makes living in Valley Stream extremely exciting for families. Being outside in the fall air gives us one last time to see this diverse community come together to simply have a good time. The kids love seeing their friends from school, scouts, as well as their various sports time they participate on.
I had to take a step back from being on the community fest planning committee due to life, but I have learned that new this year in the Children’s Area will be a nice big stage for the kids and other acts to perform on. How cool is that?
What’s also new is the petting zoo brought to the fest by Long Island Pony Parties Inc./Tack and Go Farms.
Strong Side Studios will be hosting the main stage in the children’s area with amazing acts from both children and other performances this year.
As in year’s past, there will be tons of vendors from both Valley Stream and other communities all here to take our money.
I do know that there are new stores along Rockaway you should check out. There is an athletic apparel store, a new cycling gym, children’s clothing and acessories, dog groomer, steak house, and tailor. Stop by and check them out.
Here is the current stage performance schedule for the Saturday:
Have fun, be safe, and Happy New Year to my Jewish readers!
