Last weekend, we hopped on the road for about 15 minutes to get to Arthur Ashe Stadium. We arrived at the stadium in no time. However, parking was a bit more difficult. If you’re going next year, be sure to get up and arrive earlier than we did. Like the moment gates open at 8 a.m.
It’s free. It’s a fabulous day. But heading into the grounds was a beast! After about 45-60 minutes of waiting to park, we were on our way into the historical stadium.
The kids had the chance to do some tennis drills which seemed to be more geared towards the little tennis players. My daughter has played since she was 4.5 years old and my son is now starting to play.
They had a great time!
We had tickets to attend the concert where teen favorites performed a great show with fitness guru and Insanity star Shaun T as host. He was pretty funny!
The highlight of the day of course we’re seeing the tennis legend Serena Williams came out to play for charity. Now, my kids can say they saw her play.
Thanks to the following sponsors for putting smiles on the faces of thousands of kids in New York and beyond! We look forward to this every year and can’t wait for next year.
