The holiday weekend is here! Do you have your tickets for the Valley Stream Fireworks on July 4th? For up to the minute updates be sure to check Inc. Village of Valley Stream, Valley Stream Chamber of Commerce, or Valley Stream Herald Facebook pages.
Be sure to read the info to help with your trip to the big show. Street closures and block parties usually fill the areas closest to the event so be ready.
We once stood outside of Fireman’s Field and watched from the street, but now we get tickets and lay on the lawn with hundreds of other folks. I highly recommend getting a ticket because you have access to live music, giveaways (usually) and bounce houses and other fun things to do with the kids. Consider this a great opportunity to spread out a blanket with the family and enjoy the show up close and personal.
Park & Ride
Veterans Transportation is providing a shuttle from Hendrickson Pool Facility Parking Lot to Fireman’s Field starting around 6:30pm. Parking permits will be waived for the event.
What Not to Bring
No strollers, coolers or chairs are allowed in park although there have been designated places to leave those items by the entry gates in past years.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and will close at the coordinator’s discretion which means until tickets are sold out. I think. If you forgot your blanket, there are plenty of seats in the bleachers but your butt will hurt. Yes, I have experience in this matter.
6:30 p.m. – Gates Open
7:30 p.m. – Entertainment Begins
9:15 p.m. – Fireworks begin
