Today, the world observes Earth Day and so does my son’s Kindergarten class. Our assignment was to send in a poster, diorama hanging from a hanger, a book report about an endangered animal, or something like that. A week earlier, my husband took the kids to the monthly Home Depot Kids Workshop where they made a bird bath sponsored by Rio 2 which we just saw last Friday.
My husband had the brilliant idea to convert this free craft into a pretty cool bird bath, along with my creativity of course. I went to our neighborhood Michaels where I found a little bird and some grassy moss looking stuff. My son took a magazine and cut out some flowers to decorate and cover the Rio 2 advertisement and traced a square on blue paper and cut it out to look like water. We then placed the bird on the corner.
There’s a simple bird bath just in time for his Earth Day project. Why a bird bath for Earth Day? Well, you’ll just have to ask him when you see him, but trust me…you’ll want one for your backyard.
